At Wags In Style Dog Grooming Salon, we are proud to provide a secure and safe environment for your dog.
It is required that all of our clients read, understand and agree with the following policy, and terms and conditions.
YOUR PET’S HEALTH AND WELFARE
You must confirm that your dog is fit and healthy, and vaccinated up-to-date. Grooming of a sick or elderly dog is entirely at the owner's risk.
CANCELLATION & NO SHOWS
If you need to cancel your appointment, a 24-hour notice is required. Please respect that we are a small family business, and when you forget or cancel an appointment we miss the opportunity to fill that appointment time.
We do understand that sometimes you might need to rearrange your appointment. If this happens at a more than 24-hour notice, no charge will be applied. If you fail to show or cancel at a less than 24-hours notice (except in extreme circumstances), half the appointment’s cost has to be paid and the next appointment needs to be charged in advance. Unless the account is settled, no further appointments will be booked. If this happens again, full the appointment’s cost has to be charged.
TIME KEEPING
We work by appointment only. We offer a free appointment reminder by text message. Full grooming usually takes 2-3 hours depending on the size, coat condition and temperament of the dog. Whilst we do appreciate that clients may be late under unexpected circumstances, we also do have the responsibility to our other clients who keep their appointment times. For this reason, for any late arrivals of more than 20 minutes, we have the right to cancel or change the appointment, and payment in advance for future services will be requested.
PRICING
Our prices are based on breed, coat condition, hair length, style and temperament of the dog. An extra charge will be applied if your dog is matted, has fleas, or has not been booked for grooming within the recommended timeline (usually 6-8 weeks). All prices are guide prices only, we will confirm the cost on the day of your appointment.
For new bookings/customers, £20 deposit is required. This is non refundable, in case of last minute cancellations or no shows.
VACCINATIONS
All dogs have to be fully vaccinated to attend an appointment. Puppies are accepted only 2 weeks after their 2nd vaccinations.
FLEAS/TICKS
Please make sure your dog is flea free when they attend their appointment. In case a dog is found to have fleas, a flea treatment bath will be given at an extra £10 cost. This covers the costs of the special shampoo, cleaning and disinfecting the salon and towels used. It is our priority to comfort your dog and protect all the other dogs in the salon, too. We reserve the right to decline any service until your dog’s flea infection is treated.
STAFF’S SAFETY
We have the experience to handle most of the dogs regardless their temperament, but it is essential to make us aware if your dog shows any aggression or has any behavioural problems. We will muzzle a dog, If we feel we need to protect ourselves, staff or other dogs.
GROOMING ACCIDENTS
Although we are extremely careful and caring in all situations, grooming equipment is very sharp and an accident could occur such as scratches, cuts and quickening of the nails. This usually happens when the dog is wiggling or does not respond to the groomer. In any case we ensure you that we groom your dog in the safest possible way.
NEGLECTED & MATTED COATS
In our salon we practice humanity before vanity. In case a dog is presented with a neglected or matted coat, clipping short is the only kind way to comfort them. In heavily matted dogs, brushing and de-matting is not an option. Under The Animal Welfare Act 2006 (Sec 5), animals are to be protected from pain, injury and suffering.
Wags In Style and its staff, do not accept liability for any effects following the treatment of a matted dog such as skin irritation, redness or nicks.
Extra charges will incur due to time and extra wear and tear on equipment.
LATE PICK UP FEES
We will text or call you 15’ before your dog is ready for collection. Please, arrange for your dog to be collected on time as we have limited space and do not have the facilities for a day care service.
A charge may be added for early drop offs or late pick ups.
GROOM FEEDBACK
We want all our clients happy. If you are dissatisfied with your dog’s groom, please let us know (preferably before you leave or the next couple days). Reasonable requests will be dealt immediately and notes will be kept in our records for the next groom. Wags In Style takes great pride in our service and we seek our clients to feel the same.
PHOTOGRAPHS/VIDEOS
Photographs and/or videos may be taken before, during and after your dog’s groom and may be used on our website or social media.
EMMI-PET ULTRASONIC TEETH CLEANING
This method of dental cleaning is highly effective in removing mild tartar, improving gums, breath odour and overall oral health, Wags In Style cannot guarantee the results, effectiveness, or suitability for individual pets due to varying external factors. If dogs become distressed or we discover anything likely to cause discomfort to your pet, we will discontinue immediately and inform you. The best approach to solve this will then be discussed with you.
Each pet will have its own tooth brush head that will not be used on another dog. This is purchased at the initial treatment and will be replaced after 25 treatments or sooner if required. Some pets may chew the brush head, if this is excessive it may need replacing sooner to maintain effectiveness. Brush heads will require replacing after 1 year regardless of number of times they have been used.
If we feel any teeth are loose or at risk of becoming loose when the tartar comes off we may request you get your pets’ teeth checked at your veterinarian before treatment. It is possible that the tartar build up will be too great and then a veterinary dental may be necessary initially and then follow up ultrasonic maintenance visits with us.
We cannot be held responsible for any problems occurring from poor dentition before, during or after any ultrasonic treatments.
Wags In Style ultrasonic treatment is not a veterinary procedure and we cannot diagnose any problems with your dogs mouth. Please have any advisories checked by your veterinarian.
We offer 2 types of treatment plans. The cost of maintenance add-on treatments will be charged at each appointment and is based on frequency. The cost of the intensive oral health treatment must be paid in full at the initial treatment for one/two weeks. Follow up weeks, if necessary, must be paid in full at the start of each follow up week.
The effectiveness of the ultrasound teeth cleaning is based on frequency and that optimum oral health might only be achieved by keeping to the frequency recommended by Wags In Style.
